Synopsis:

On an overcast Sunday 4 individuals, belonging to the same city and milieu, upper m-class Kerala, decide to make clandestine meetings with their lovers. As they struggle to play out their roles, the craving for something new starts. The jagged edges of that craving begin to soften as they find love, or some of it, with the ‘strangers’ who has entered their lives. Would they become wiser in their experience of love, intimacy and in their acute sense of belonging, to a partner in or out-of-marriage?

Director biography and filmography:

Shyamaprasad received the Commonwealth Scholarship in 1989 and did his Masters in Film & Media Production at the Hull University, U K. His features for TV and cinema have won him several national and state awards. Agnisakshi and Akale and Ore Kadal had been adjudged the Best regional cinema of the nation in 1998, 2004 and 2007. These films also bagged as much as 9 state awards in all major technical categories including Best Director. He was awarded the Best Television Director prize for the year 1993, 1994, and 1996 consecutively. His films had been showcased in several prestigious film festivals such as Karlovy Vary, Tokyo, Cairo, Rome, Brisbane, Benodet, Tehran, Frieburg, Stuttgart, Florence, and Fukuoka. Ore Kadal had been honored as the inaugural film of the Indian Panorama at the International film festival of India – 2007. The film was also awarded the Fipresci Prize and the NETPAC Award for the best feature at the IFFK-2008 and showcased at the 6th Asiatica Film Mediale held at Rome on the November 2007. His other films include Ritu, Elektra, Arike, English and Artist, which was premiered in the Indian International Film Festival at Goa-2013, as part of the prestigious Indian Panorama. The film went on to win him The Best Director’s Prize at the Kerala State Awards -2013. Shyamaprasad has also served thrice as jury at the Indian National Film Awards.
