Fatherland

Director: Ken Loach / UK, West Germany, France / 111 mins1_fatherland_1  Synopsis :  Rejected by the East, Klaus Dritteman, a folk singer
arrives in the West Berlin where he is at once welcomed by the music industry. But he is unhappy being treated as a commodity in the West and doesn’t know if he can be creative in his new environment. Intent on finding his father, who deserted 30 years before, he finds his way to
Cambridge, with the help of a female journalist, where he discovers some piercing and painful personal truths. The movie is an ambiguous yet penetrating work about two opposing cultures and the way they both manipulate and control artistic expression.
