Derek Malcolm

Derek Michael Malcolm is an English film critic and historian. He worked for several decades as a film critic for ‘The Guardian’, having previously been an amateur jockey and the paper’s first horse racing correspondent. In 1977, he was a member of the jury at the 27th Berlin International Film Festival. In the mid-1980s he was host of The Film Club on BBC2, which was dedicated to art house films, and was director of the London Film Festival for several years.

He published his final series of articles, ‘The Century of Films’, in which he discusses films he admires from his favourite directors from around the world. After The Guardian he became chief film critic for the Evening Standard. In 2008 he was a member of the jury at the 30th Moscow International Film Festival. Malcolm is president of the British Federation of Film Societies and the International Film Critics’ Circle.


Latika Padgaonkar

Latika Padgaonkar is a columnist, translator and editor. She was for many years the Executive Editor of Cinemaya: The Asian Film Quarterly and Joint Director of Osian’s-Cinefan Festival of Asian and Arab Cinema in New Delhi. Now based in Pune, she organises small festivals in collaboration with the National Film Archives of India.


Ershad Kamol

Ershad Komal Khan, writing under the penname, Ershad Kamol, is a film critic based in Bangladesh. He is a member of International Film Critics Association of Bangladesh. Presently, he is the cultural affairs editor of “New Age,” a broadsheet English-language daily newspaper. Ershad is also a television actor and theatre activist. In 2012, he served as a FIPRESCI Jury Member in the 12th Dhaka International Film Festival held in Dhaka.
