Meet the Press – Amol Palekar
“Cinema should not be judged by its mass turn out and commercial high scales. In reality we have been brainwashed to think that commercially successful movies are good movies, which is a misconception.
The propagators of 100 CR club are making the audience passive onlookers. When 100 years of Indian was celebrated, movies like Sholay and Dilwale Dulhaniya Lejayenge were only recognized .The real movies were totally eclipsed. I always look forward to the experience of coming to IFFK because the audience here is extremely mature, very receptive and is much more than film buffs. For a film maker like me it’s not only a great pleasure to present a film here in front of such an audience, it is also a very enriching experience.”
