‘Wajib’ Receives the Prestigious Suwarna Chakoram at 22nd IFFK
The Palestinian drama ‘Wajib’ directed by Annemarie Jacir received the Suwarna Chakoram for the best film at the 22nd International Film Festival of Kerala.
Maria Zreik, the actress of ‘Wajib’, received the award on behalf of the director.
The film received The Golden Crow Pheasant Award with a cash prize of INR 15 lakhs for the Best Feature Film to be shared equally between the Director and the Producer.

SYNOPSIS Abu Shadi is a divorced father and a school teacher in his mid-60s living in Nazareth. After his daughter’s wedding in one month he will be living alone. Shadi, his architect son, arrives from Rome after years abroad to help his father in hand delivering the wedding invitations to each guest as per local Palestinian custom.
