The final 'Meet the Director' session of the 29th IFFK, moderated by Meera Sahib, brought together filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, providing an engaging platform at the Tagore Theatre premises. This special event was made even more memorable as each director shared their unique experiences and perspectives on cinema.

Jithin Issac Thomas, the director of Pattth, expressed his pleasure at being part of the festival, a sentiment echoed by all participants who valued the platform that IFFK provides for independent and meaningful cinema.

Fazil Muhammed, the visionary behind Feminichi Fathima, poignantly reflected on the profound personal connection he shared with his debut film. Hailing from Ponnani, Fazil drew creative sustenance from his own community, masterfully weaving a narrative that sheds light on the struggles of Muslim women. With unflinching candour, he revealed, "My connection to the film runs deep, rooted in my own community and experiences." Fazil also acknowledged the role of social media in amplifying the voices of the oppressed, often silenced and overlooked.

His own family's struggles, witnessed firsthand, had profoundly shaped the film's emotional core. Yet, it was the collective support of his neighbours and community members that stood as a testament to the collaborative spirit that defined the filmmaking process. With heartfelt gratitude, Fazil recognised the unwavering backing of those who stood by him, underscoring the power of unity and creative solidarity.

Ahmed Kamal, actor in Hala Elkoussy's film East of Noon, shared insights on the challenges faced by Egyptian filmmakers. Produced jointly by Egypt and the Netherlands, the film showcases the country's cinematic talent. Kamal, visiting Kerala for the first time, praised the festival as a unique experience. He acknowledged the struggles of producing quality films in Egypt, citing stringent censorship and limited producers. "It is hard to find a producer in Egypt", he admitted, though he remained optimistic about the learning and growth such challenges bring to the filmmaking process.

The session concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Balu Kiriyath, marking yet another enriching chapter in the festival's celebration of cinema
