IFFK Day 3: Movies to Check Out

The 29th IFFK continues to bring together some of the best global cinema for audiences on its third day. A diverse array of films is lined up, including 5 international competition films, 4 from the Indian Cinema Now category, 5 Festival Favourites, and 23 World Cinemas. Additionally, films by 5 Malayalam directors will be featured in the Malayalam Cinema Today category. A key highlight of the day is Saraswathy Nagarajan's In Conversation with Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Ann Hui at Nila Theatre from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM.

'Feminichi Fathima', one of the two Malayalam films in the International Competition, will be shown at Kairali Theatre at 3:00 PM. The film tells the story of a housewife who tries to reclaim her independence from her conservative husband. 'Pattth', directed by Jithin Issac Thomas, is a film about a Kenyan tribal song and the mysteries surrounding it. The movie will be screened at Sree Theatre at 6:15 PM. 'Emilia Pérez', a film in the Festival Favourites category directed by Jacques Audiard, explores the physical and mental transformation of a ruthless cartel leader into a woman. The movie will be shown at Sree Padmanabha at 12:00 noon. ‘Queer’ a film in the World Cinema category is a romantic drama set in 1960s Mexico. It follows an American expat who becomes infatuated with a younger man. The movie will be played at Ajanta Theatre at 9.30 AM. A total of 67 films will be screened today including 'Memories of a Burning Body' (Kairali: 9.30 AM), 'Malu' (Kairali: 11.45 AM),  'Baghjan' (Kalabhavan: 11.30 AM) 'Cupid Saw the Star' (Kalabhavan: 6 PM) and many more.
