Farah Nabulsi

Farah Nabulsi, born in 1978 in London, United Kingdom, is a British-Palestinian filmmaker and human rights activist. In 2016, Nabulsi founded Native Liberty Productions, a not-for-profit media production company aimed at re-humanizing Palestinians and drawing attention to the injustices they face. Her directorial debut, "The Present" (2020), was nominated for an Academy Award and won the BAFTA Award for Best Short Film. The film has won over 50 international awards and was licensed to Canal+ and Netflix worldwide. Her feature film debut, "The Teacher" (2023), premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival and has won numerous international awards, including the Audience Award at the San Francisco International Film Festival. The film tells the story of a Palestinian school teacher struggling to reconcile his commitment to political resistance with his emotional support for a student and the chance of a new relationship with a volunteer worker.
