Jaicheng Xai Dohutia
Jaicheng Xai Dohutia was born in the Indian state of Assam. He studied film and video editing for three years at the Jyoti Chitraban Film & Television Institute in Guwahati. Haanduk (The Hidden Corner), his debut feature film, won the Jury Grand Prize at the 18th Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2016, Best Regional Film at the 64th National Film Awards 2016, NETPAC Award for Best Asian Film at All Light International Film Festival 2017, Best Film & Best Director at Assam State Awards 2018, and other accolades. "Jolsobi," his Indo-German co-production second film, had its world premiered in the New Director's Competition section of the 45th São Paulo International Film Festival. Baghjan, his most recent feature, was selected for the "Goes to Cannes" segment of the Marche du Film. Filmography: Haanduk 2016 Jolsobi 2022
Synopsis
Manab refuses to accept his pregnant wife's death in the oil well blast and tries to find her. Worried, his friends Bimal and Janeki try to help, but they face severe trouble as they struggle to cope with Manab's erratic behavior.
