Jang Jae-hyun, born in 1981, is a South Korean film director and screenwriter. He graduated from Sungkyunkwan University and the Korea National University of Arts. Jang gained recognition with his short film "12th Assistant Deacon" (2014), which won awards at the Mise-en-scène Short Film Festival and the Jeonju International Film Festival. His debut feature film, "The Priests" (2015), was a hit with over 5.4 million admissions. Jang's other notable works include "Svaha: The Sixth Finger" (2019) and "Exhuma" (2024), which earned him the Best Director award at the Blue Dragon Film Awards and the Baeksang Arts Awards.
