Tribute to Kumar Sahni: A Lover of Kerala and Indian Cinema
At the 29th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), a heartfelt tribute was paid to Kumar Sahni, a filmmaker who embodied his love for Kerala and India through his work.
Renowned screenwriter and director Saeed Akhtar Mirza, while launching the book "Remembering Kumar Sahni" by M R Rajan, published by the Kerala State Chalachithra Academy, said, "Kumar Sahni was always a lover of Kerala, who tried to study the complexities of India, and has received love in return."
Saeed Akhtar Mirza handed over the book to writer Rosemary at the event held at Nila Theatre. He remembered Kumar Sahni as a person who sought to understand the meaning of life and find cinema through it. Mirza also noted that Sahni's never-fading smile is reflected in his films.
The event was graced by M.R. Rajan, Chalachithra Academy Secretary C. Ajoy, and other dignitaries.
