Jacques Audiard, born on April 30, 1952, in Paris, France, is a celebrated French film director, screenwriter, and producer. Audiard began his career in the film industry as an assistant editor and later transitioned to screenwriting in the 1980s. He made his directorial debut with "See How They Fall" (1994), which won the César Award for Best First Film. His subsequent films, such as "A Self-Made Hero" (1996), "Read My Lips" (2001), and "The Beat That My Heart Skipped" (2005), garnered critical acclaim and numerous awards. One of his most notable works, "A Prophet" (2009), received the Grand Prix at the Cannes Film Festival and was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Audiard's film "Dheepan" (2015) won the prestigious Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. He also directed his first English-language film, "The Sisters Brothers" (2018). His latest film, "Emilia Perez" (2024), won the Cannes Film Festival Jury Prize
