Edward Berger (Wolfsburg, Germany. 1970) won, with Im Westen nichts Neues (All Quiet on the Western Front, 2022) the Academy Awards for Best International Feature Film, Best Cinematography, Best Soundtrack and Best Production Design, as well as another five nominations, including best feature. The movie premiered at the Toronto Festival and won seven BAFTAs, two European Film Awards and seven German Cinema accolades, among others. He had made his feature debut with Gomez - Kopf oder Zahl (1998), followed by others including Frau2 sucht HappyEnd (2001), Jack (2014), with which he competed in Berlin, and All My Loving (2019). He has also directed series such as Deutschland 83 (2015) and The Terror (2018) as well as films for TV including Windland (2007) and A Good Summer (2011).
