Kelly Fyffe-Marshall

Kelly Fyffe-Marshall is a Canadian filmmaker known for socially conscious storytelling. Her short film Black Bodies (2020) won the TIFF Changemaker Award and was recognized at Sundance. She also directed Haven (2018) and Summer of the Gun (2019). When Morning Comes marks her debut feature film, premiering at TIFF 2022.

Synopsis

A Canadian-Jamaican drama about Jamal, a young boy in Jamaica grappling with his mother Neesha’s decision to send him to Canada to live with his grandmother after his father’s death. The film explores themes of migration, grief, and resilience, portraying the emotional weight of leaving home and the bonds of family across borders.
