Prabhash Chandra
Prabhash Chandra, born in Bihar, is the Artistic Director of Alpana Theatre and a visiting faculty member at the University of Delhi. A student of Physics before turning to cinema, his deep fascination with the nature of reality and time continues to shape his artistic language. For over a decade, he has moved between theatre and film, exploring image and silence, searching for a language where memory and landscape speak beyond words. His debut feature, I’m Not The River Jhelum, received critical acclaim and won the FFSI K.R. Mohanan Award for Best Debut Director. Synopsis
Alaav, is the story of Bhaveen, a 63-year-old son, taking care of Savitri, his ailing 95-year-old mother in their home nestled in a quiet suburb of New Delhi, India. The film not just deals with the tenderness, playfulness, patience and devotion of Bhaveen but also with the struggles, frustrations, resentment and the passive aggression caregiving entails. It is a dispassionate yet an intimate portrayal of the human bond between a Mother and Son.
