Boris Lojkine, born on July 24, 1969, in Paris, France, is a French film director known for his compelling documentaries and narrative films. Lojkine's early works were documentaries inspired by his time in Vietnam, including "Ceux qui restent" (2001) and "Les chantiers de la coopération" (2004). His narrative feature debut, "Hope" (2014), was screened at the Critics' Week section of the Cannes Film Festival and won the Prix SACD. His second narrative feature, "Camille" (2019), won the Audience Award at the Locarno Film Festival. In 2024, his film "Souleymane's Story" was selected for the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival.
As he pedals through the streets of Paris to deliver meals, Souleymane repeats his story. In two days, he has to go through his asylum application interview, which is the key to obtaining papers. But Souleymane is not ready.
