Mohamed Diab, born in Ismailia in 1978, is an Egyptian writer-director known for socially urgent dramas. His debut Cairo 678 (2010) tackled sexual harassment, while Clash (2016) opened Cannes’ Un Certain Regard with its claustrophobic portrayal of Egypt’s political turmoil. Diab also directed episodes of Marvel’s Moon Knight (2022), expanding his global reach.
Set entirely inside a police truck during Egypt’s post-Morsi turmoil, detainees from divergent political and social backgrounds confront fear, prejudice, and flickers of solidarity. The claustrophobic space becomes a crucible for survival and fragile cooperation
