Tannishtha Chatterjee

Biography After majoring in Chemistry, Tannishtha Chatterjee graduated from The National School of Drama, New Delhi. A 15-year career as an actor in both Indian and international films, include Sarah Gavron’s “Brick Lane” for which she was nominated for the British independent film awards as best actress, German film “ Shadows of time”, Oscar nominated “Lion”, Road,movie(premiered in Toronto and then went to Berlinale and Tribeca) Parched(premiered in Toronto), Angry Indian Goddesses(Premiered in Toronto), Watch Indian circus for which she was awarded the National film award, Island city( premiered in Venice) , Monsoon shootout(premiered in Cannes) and recently Yellow bus(premiered in Toronto) and many others. She made her directorial debut with the full-length feature Roam Rome Mein in 2018. The film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival in 2019, where she received the prestigious Asia Star Award presented by Marie Claire. Full Plate marks her second directorial venture. Tannishtha is also a trained Indian Classical singer.
