Rohan Parashuram Kanawade is a self-made filmmaker who grew up in a Mumbai slum, raised by his chauffeur father and homemaker mother. After initially working in interior design, he transitioned to filmmaking, and his short films have since screened at festivals worldwide. His debut feature, Sabar Bonda (Cactus Pears), which won the World Cinema Grand Jury Prize: Dramatic at the Sundance Film Festival 2025, was developed at the Venice Biennale College Cinema (2022–2023) and showcased at platforms such as Film Bazaar, the Venice Gap Financing Market, and Goes to Cannes. His notable short films include U Ushacha (U for Usha), Khidkee (Window), Sundar (Beautiful), and Ektya Bhinti (Lonely Walls).
Anand, a 30-something city dweller compelled to spend a 10-day mourning period for his father in the rugged countryside of western India, tenderly bonds with a local farmer who is struggling to stay unmarried. As the mourning ends, forcing his return, Anand must decide the fate of his relationship born under duress.
