P. Subramaniam

P. Subramaniam (1905–1979) was a pioneering Indian filmmaker, producer, and studio founder whose work shaped the early decades of Malayalam cinema. He was born in Nagercoil and later moved to Kerala, where he established Merryland Studio in 1951, the second film studio in the state and a hub for disciplined, collaborative filmmaking. Between the mid‑1950s and late 1970s, Subramaniam produced 69 films, directing 59 of them himself, making him one of the most prolific figures in Malayalam cinema

Synopsis

Thankachan, the only son of the rich landlady Kunjadamma is in love with Chinnamma, the daughter of a poor school teacher Luka. Lucy, the daughter of a millionaire Vendor Kutty is also in love with Thankachan. The marriage broker Peeli and Vendor Kutty play all nasty tricks to break the relationship between Thankachan and Chinnamma.
