Nabil Ayouch

Nabil Ayouch, born in Paris in 1969, is a Franco-Moroccan filmmaker whose socially engaged cinema tackles issues of youth, marginalization, and freedom in Morocco. His debut Mektoub (1997) was followed by Ali Zaoua (2000), which brought him international recognition. He continued with Whatever Lola Wants (2007), Much Loved (2015), and Razzia (2017), cementing his reputation as a bold voice in Arab cinema.

Synopsis

Four homeless boys in Casablanca break away from a gang, but when Ali dies, his friends struggle to give him a dignified burial. Their journey through poverty, violence, and fragile hope becomes a testament to friendship and dignity amid despair
